Bothar began working in Serbia in 2005 and provides families with training, dairy cows, dairy goats and sheep. Bóthar also provides veterinary supplies and office equipment together with ongoing extensive Artificial Insemination sessions and the provision of back up AI equipment

Project Title: Rehabilitation of Rural Livelihoods in South Serbia
Location: Blace Municipality, South Serbia
Total number of families: 120 families
Animals: 20 Heifers and 80 sheep
Other inputs: A Handbook for Modern Farming has been published and distributed to all beneficiaries. A computer for the Veterinary Centre has been provided.
Training: Farming needs have been determined and workshops carried out aimed at animal husbandry of specific breeds
Brief synopsis of the project: This project is targetting families, some of whom are Serbian refugees who fled Kosovo, by providing them with sheep and cattle. The local Veterinary Centre in Blace will provide veterinary assistance and knowledge to the families.
Pass-on obligations: First born females of both cows and sheep will be passed on to other trained local families.
Expected benefits: Training in improved livestock production and improved income.
