Benin is one of Bothars most recent project countries being established in 2007. Bóthar works with a number of different animal species in Benin including goats, poultry, bees, and sheep.

Location: Ouarzazate region, South East Morocco
Total number of families: 83
Animals: Alpine goats, bees, laying hens
Other inputs: Veterinary aid and concentrate feeding.
Training: Basic animal health management, goat husbandry, micro-credit, teamwork, hive and zero grazing unit construction and maintenance and basic hygiene.
Brief synopsis of the project: 58 families will be presented with 125 alpine goats, 10 families will receive 10 beehives and 15 families will be set up with poultry. They will be trained on how to care for and manage their animals and how to build the appropriate shelters for them. Training will be provided by Elevages sans Frontieres and the ROSA association.

Expected benefits: The quality of life for the beneficiaries should be greatly improved along with the health and productivity of livestock, with opportunities for the sale of produce and the help that those sales bring.
