Cambodia is one of the poorest countries in the world and it relies heavily on aid. Subsistence farming employs 70% of the workforce, with the Mekong River providing fertile, irrigated fields for rice production. Cambodia is burdened with the legacy of decades of conflict; unexploded munitions - thought to number in the millions - continue to kill and maim civilians, despite an ongoing de-mining drive.

Bóthar in Cambodia

Bóthar began working in Cambodia in 2005 and provides families with multi purpose cows which can be used for draft power, milk and meat. Bóthar has also provided farming and veterinary supplies.
