Tour developing countries and learn more about our work

Pictured in Uganda are Pat McCarrick and Jeremy Meehan from Bóthar with Bóthar field staff and project participants.

Bóthar is pleased to announce the launch of its 2007/2008 Study Tour programme.

Study Tours allow supporters of Bóthar to witness first hand projects in the Developing World where the organisation has an involvement. In countries such as Albania, supporters can see how Irish dairy heifers have made a difference in the lives of poor families there. In locations further a-field such as China or Peru, participants will be shown how funds donated to Bóthar is being used to relieve hunger and save lives through the use of farm animals.

In 2007 there will be only one Study Tour option; this trip will travel to Kosovo and Albania this September. Dates are to be confirmed but it is expected that the tour will last for 6 days. These project locations in Eastern Europe should be of particular interest to our donors given that so many of our dairy heifers have been airlifted to these countries in recent years.

Supporters interested in participating in a Bóthar Study Tour are required to apply stating their area of interest and their availability. Tours have to be planned months in advance so early contact is advisable. Participants are required to cover all costs. Bóthar will make every effort to provide tours at affordable prices. All travel, accommodation and most meals will be included in the cost. A contribution for each project visited is also included in the overall cost. Consideration will only be given to individuals or groups who complete the official application form contained in our Study Tour information pack.

All correspondence regarding Study Tours should be made to our Sligo Office: Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo.
