Trek for Bóthar in 2006
Our Fundraising Projects Office has put together a selection of walking challenges for you in 2006. These events give you the opportunity to get involved in a project where everyone benefits, the participants themselves (fitness and friendship), Bóthar (much needed income) and the poor who receive our animals.
Kavanagh Country in March 2006
Participants getting involved in this fundraising challenge will spend a day walking the 15 miles of the Monaghan Way that runs between Inniskeen (Kavanagh’s home village) and Castleblayney. The route follows the track of the old railway referred to in the writings of Kavanagh. This experience will also feature an educational and entertainment element which will further strengthen the connection being made with the renowned Monaghan novelist and poet.
Alpine Trek in August 2006
Would you like to do something just a little bit different with some of your free time next summer? Bóthar is organising a fundraising trek that you might like to get involved in. This fundraising event is set to take place in mid August 2006.
The alpine trek will take place in the heart of the Tyrol, just southwest of Innsbruck, Austria. The Stubai Alps offer some of the grandest scenery in all Austria. On average we will be covering about 10 miles each day but this will include daily ascents and descents of up to 1,000 meters. The trek will include one free day mid-week.
We hope to recruit a group of between 15 and 20 participants for this trip which will take place over 8 days.
