Spring 2005: Spread the Sweetness this Valentine's Day
Spread the sweetness this Valentine's day and give a Bóthar Valentine Card to someone special on February 14th. Show someone how much you care by sponsoring a food-and- income producing hive of Honey Bees for a poor family in their name.
Three hives of Honey Bees will produce enough honey for a family to eat. The extra honey can be sold at market and the wax from the hives can be used to make candles. When the family sells the honey and wax at market they can use the extra income earned to buy food and medicine or even pay for school fees.
The Bóthar ‘Bee My Honey' Valentines card actually saves lives. The recipients of the Honey Bees are usually the poorest of the poor, people who have not got the resources to care for a larger animal. Honey Bees require almost no space and, once established, are inexpensive to maintain.
For as little as €50 you can contribute to the Bóthar Honey Bee appeal and help to alleviate poverty and hunger for poor children in Africa and Eastern Europe. €50 will sponsor one hive of Honey Bees, protective clothing and training for a struggling family. It takes three hives of Honey Bees, which cost €125 to make up a full bee-keeping unit.
Normal Valentines cards just don't create the buzz that Bóthar cards do!
So Spread the sweetness this Valentines Day and spend your money on a card that saves lives!
In return Bóthar would love its supporters to use their extra special Valentines card on February 14th.
