We are pleased to announce the safe arrival and distribution of 70-IN-CALF DAIRY HEIFERS to 70 poor families in Cameroon, who had successfully completed our training. In association with Heifer Nederlands, Bóthar sourced the animals in South Africa and airlifted them from Johannesburg to Douala, in late September this year. Also included in the airlift were crucial Veterinary supplies.
ZAMBIA Autumn 2004:
Bóthar's first airlift of Irish animals to Zambia took place in October this year. 150 IRISH DAIRY GOATS were transported from Nenagh, Co. Tipperary, by road and sea, to Gatwick Airport in London. From there they were airlifted to Lusaka, the capital of Zambia, and met by our Zambian project partners, HEIFER ZAMBIA. Initial reports from the 150 struggling families who received the goats are very positive and Heifer Zambia have requested more Irish Dairy Goats.
